Signs Your HDMI Port Is Damaged
- “No Signal” on every TV and every HDMI cable you try
- The cable feels loose or wiggles in the port
- The picture flickers, cuts out or only works when the cable is held at an angle
- Bent, pushed-in or missing pins inside the port
- The console was dropped, knocked off a shelf or tripped over while plugged in
- Sound but no picture, or the TV keeps detecting and losing the console
Before you bring it in, try a different cable and TV input. If those don’t help, it’s time for a professional look.
How Our HDMI Port Repair Works
- Diagnosis. Walk in, no appointment needed. We test the console to confirm whether the port, the board or something else is at fault. Diagnosis is $39 and goes toward your repair if we can fix it.
- Clear quote first. We explain what we found and give you a quote before any work begins.
- Port replacement. The damaged port is carefully removed and a new one is soldered to the board, then pads and nearby parts are inspected.
- Testing. We test video and audio output on a display before you pick it up.
- Warranty. Repairs include our 6-month warranty on parts and labor (does not cover accidental or physical damage).
For console parts, we recommend a quick call to your store first so we can confirm availability. You can also get an instant quote online.
Why Micro-Soldering Matters
An HDMI port isn’t a plug-in part. It is soldered directly to the console’s main board with many tiny, closely spaced pins. Removing it without the right equipment can lift pads, bridge pins or overheat nearby components, turning a port repair into a board repair. Our technicians use proper micro-soldering tools and technique so the new port is solid and the board around it stays healthy. That’s also why DIY port kits often end badly. If someone has already attempted a repair, tell us so we can check the board closely.

HDMI Port Repair FAQ
How do I know if it’s the HDMI port or the cable?
Try a different HDMI cable and a different TV or input. If you still get no picture on any of them, or the port feels loose or has bent pins, the port is the likely problem. We’ll confirm it when we test the console.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in to any of our Folsom, Vacaville or Gresham stores. For console repairs, we recommend calling ahead so we can confirm parts availability.
Will I get a quote before the repair?
Yes. We’ll tell you what we found and give you a quote before any work begins. Diagnosis is $39 and goes toward your repair if we can fix it.
Is the repair covered by a warranty?
Yes. Our repairs include a 6-month warranty on parts and labor. Accidental or physical damage isn’t covered.
Can you fix a Nintendo Switch that won’t show on the TV?
Yes. The problem can be the dock’s HDMI port, the dock’s internals or the Switch’s own USB-C port. We test both the console and the dock to find out which one needs repair.
Can I mail my console in?
Yes. Our mail-in repair service lets you ship your device to us, and you can follow its progress with our online repair tracker.
